I'm so happy! I'm so happy! School is done! No more finals! No more projects! No more stressful evenings spent working on school crap when I'd rather be writing!
Eh...it wasn't all that bad. Well the school part was, but I found plenty of ways throughout to keep my sanity. In early April, I posted a journal article called "Taking a Breather". I spent over an hour writing about what had been going on in my life. The blog was large, my friends, and pendulous (...I like this word...reminds me of RHPS). And my craptastic BlueLight Internet decided to crash right when I was posting it, and I was so addle-brained from working on my Senior Seminar that I forgot to copy and paste it just in case. Like that, my long long blog full of explanations and whatnot was gone. Tre sad. But I'm not going to let that get me down. I'll just make this blog even bigger to include what el stupido ISP decided to delete.
Here goes....
First of all, I want to thank all the wonderful wonderful people who wished me luck on my Senior Seminar. It went beautifully and I've earned an A, as well as a place in my mentor prof's lab for Graduate School. I really appreciate all the support!
Now back to the past...
Sometime in the beginning of April when the weather was really nice (within like 2 weeks we'd gone back to snow...I love Indiana, really I do), my friend Malina (

) and I went on
a journey so grand, so dangerous, so picturesque that the entire world (or whoever reads my DevArt journals) needs to know about it. The Retard Adventures, as ~
mentalbaka likes to call them, started when I suggested to Malina that this really cool place by a local highway (I69 he he) where she could stage one of her photography projects. Apparently I'm the only who's ever noticed this place, which is kind of scary given the fact that it is in plain sight to anyone traveling on the highway. Basically, there are a bunch of tall concrete walls spaced around each other to form a rough, 3-sided rectangle. It was probably supposed to be a building of some sort that never was completed and instead of tearing everything down, the builders just decided to leave it in place. Over the years, the scrub forest and a gang of kids called the Venomous Ink Krew have taken it over. The exposed metal spikes that would have supported internal utility poles, sidewalks, and floors and jut above each of the concrete walls are now rusted up, and the concrete walls are covered with multi-colored graffiti tags. Since there are no access roads to the building anymore, Malina and I had to hike over a creek (I nearly fell in and got the leg of my nice jeans soaked with creek crud) and through the tangled scrub forest. We finally got to the place, and were absolutely amazed at how remote and simply fantastic it was!
Malina chronicled our adventure in photos, which you can see at her gallery at
. Very cool.
And then, I fell in love. :loved: This is really interesting, to me anyway, because as much as I write about love in my fanfics and all, I had kind of giving up ever finding it for myself. Sad, I know. But I was so gloriously wrong! So totally, completely wrong!

The basics: his name is Nate, he was born on January 1st, he's 22, and he's a Biology student like me. We've known each other as adults for almost 3 years, but we met long long ago in preschool when we were 3 years old. Wild, ne? We found out about the preschool (and kindergarten) thing sort of by accident. He mentioned that while he was at our daycare there was this little girl who would always show him her panties. And just guess which little girl got into trouble about that...

. Not to be out done, I told him about how I remembered this little boy who would always strip buck-naked during bathroom breaks and drive the teachers nuts as they tried to catch him. Now guess who that was. So I guess being the little pre-pubescent exhibitionists that we both were, we were just meant to eventually hook up. In summary, I'm blissfully happy and having a wonderful time with Nate

.
Enough mush for the moment. Since I'm done with school, I'm trying to make plans for this summer. First and foremost, I have to walk in my school's graduation ceremony (technically I won't get my diploma until next year, but since the school screwed up with my graduation analysis they're letting me walk this year). Hanyways, that happens this Wednesday. After that, my next priority is to finish my costume for AnimeNorth, which starts May 25th (27th?). I'm going as Kourin from the Twelve Kingdoms and as soon as I get my sweet new scanner graduation present from my parents, I'm going to post my designs for the costume along with some photographs of me wearing it so peeps can see. Malina, Megan (

), and I are all going up to Toronto for the convention and are super psyched, especially since we get to meet

too! Finally, but not least of all, I'm going to really start cracking on the "Bound Together: Danketsu" fic this summer. I only have to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, which leaves me 4 whole days free a week! So expect more of that, and maybe a few other side stories if I feel extra inspired.
Wow. For so much happening in the last few months, this journal is awfully brief. Hmmm. Eh...I'll leave it like it is. I'll save my energy for fic writing.
Enjoyed the fanfiction you read here? Want to read more? A fan of Trigun, perhaps? Well you're in luck, because this
